Recently, the newly developed 9-5/8" x 5-1/2" integral liner hanger with a pressure-bearing capacity of 105MPa was successfully applied in Ninggu X well, marking a new addition to the liner hanger family of Shelfoil, and another solid step on the road to serialisation of liner retraction and fracturing tools.

The Ninggu X well is a key exploratory well for Sinopec and is tasked with achieving a breakthrough in oil and gas exploration in the Ordos Basin. In order to retain the upper large diameter wellbore, the well is designed to be completed with a back jointed fracture tubing column, which is expected to reach a maximum pressure of 80-90MPa for fracturing, requiring a pressure resistance of 105MPa for the tool, while only Shelfoil's products of the same type can reach 70MPa in the domestic market.

The Shelfoil Company organised technical experts, service personnel and designers to carefully evaluate the on-site construction plan. To ensure the success of the first application of the new tool, the technical service personnel will intervene in the process of formulating the cementing plan, actively communicate with the engineering design department, and assist in the formulation of the optimal liner cementing and retrieval of the column implementation plan. In the course of on-site service, detailed operating procedures were formulated, and the entire site was on duty, requiring all partners to operate in strict accordance with the operating procedures, thus ensuring that the first application of the integrated liner hanger device was a great success, with the lowering of the casing smoothly to the bottom, the setting and hanging of the dropping hand all completed in one go, and the replacement slurry to the amount of successful touch pressure, which was unanimously approved by the A-party and the partners.

The integral liner hanger is an important achievement of Shelfoil in the research and development of ultra-high pressure fracturing tools, and also provides an indispensable technical support for Sinopec's oil and gas exploration work. With the continuous improvement of tool performance and expansion of product specifications, liner retraction fracturing technology will play a more important role in the development of tight oil and gas and shale gas.
