Recently, at the beginning of the New Year, CNPC Tarim Oilfield Gole Block received a good report that the Shelfoil Company's Φ273.05mm stage collar with packer technology was successfully applied for the first time in the block, marking the one-time full sealing of the water mud of the Permian leaky layer technical casing secondary cementing in the well, which completely solved the problem of the well's loss of return leakage and changed the previous construction status of the Permian leaky layer in the Gole Block of Tarim Oilfield. The construction status quo of "positive injection and negative squeeze" technology has successfully explored a brand new "shelfoil solution" for the cementing construction of long bare-hole leaky wells in this block. The Gole X well is a development well in the Gole Block of the Fuman Oilfield in the Tarim Basin, with a depth of 5,540m, a bare borehole length of 4,340m and a mud density of 1.25g/cm3. The well was drilled to a depth of 4,408m and 4,585.72m when a leak occurred at a rate of 72m³/h. Normal drilling was gradually resumed by plugging the leak. The neighbouring wells suffered serious leakage during the casing laydown process and after the casing was in place, and could only be cemented using the "positive injection and negative squeeze" cementing process, which resulted in a low qualification rate. Similarly, the wellhead was lost after the casing was lowered to 2978m, and no mud was returned from the wellhead after the casing was in place and the pump was turned on, including the entire primary cementing process. After the packer was successfully sealed and the hole opened, the wellhead returned to mud and normal circulation was established. The second stage increased the return rate of the cement slurry in the annulus through large displacement construction, and the mud level was monitored by positive and negative metering without leakage throughout. At the end of the second-stage cementing replacement, 60m3 of cement and mixed slurry was returned from the wellhead, achieving a one-time return of the water slurry from the second-stage cementing in this block and significantly improving the overall cementing quality of the well; at the same time, the role and quality of the stage collar with packer was highly affirmed by the Tazhong Project Department, the Three Exploration Drilling Company and the First Exploration Cementing Company, who praised the successful application of this product.
