During the technical exchange, the two sides held a special forum, at which the Production and Construction Division firstly introduced in detail the difficulties faced in the construction of the 7-7/8" technical casing cementing in the Taibon area, as the quality of the cementing could not meet the red line requirements of the oilfield company. The Production and Construction Division said that, in view of the excellent application of the Shelfoil Company's 9-5/8" and 10-3/4" blocking and grading cementers, it was hoped that the problem could be solved by adopting the 7-7/8" stage collar with packer cementing process.

At the meeting, the senior expert of the Institute and the technical person in charge of the western zone reported on the current research and development progress and performance parameters of the 7-7/8" stage collar with packer, and exchanged views with relevant personnel of the production and construction business and the Oil and Gas Engineering Research Institute on the structural performance and technical indicators of the tool. The senior experts of the Institute said that they would adhere to the practical problems of the Tarim Oilfield as the guide, strictly implement the parameter requirements finalised in this seminar and complete the product design and testing as soon as possible.
